A large insurance company in the U.S. wanted to modernize their legacy platform for application processing, underwriting, servicing, and claims processing. However, their core business logic resided in more than 1,000 complex SQL-stored procedures, stalling their modernization. With a focus on accelerating this journey, Infosys proposed several different solutions as part of a PoC engagement. A generative AI pilot project leveraging Infosys Topaz was executed involving SQL-to-Java API conversion.
The potential benefits included a 35 percent reduction in effort involved in software development. It also improved time to market by creating efficiencies in the reverse engineering and forward engineering phases.
