As part of the original Five Vs, Variety and Velocity, while no longer foundational, remain essential to data quality for AI deployment, especially in agentic AI environments where real-time data powers real-time decisions. Multi-modal intelligence - such as speech, text, images, and video - unlocks richer insight and more natural interactions. Agentic AI systems rely on these dynamic inputs and diverse signals.Yet without value, volume, and veracity, velocity simply accelerates error propagation, and variety broadens the surface area for risk. Responsible AI sequencing matters. Organizations need to get the fundamentals right first; and then scale into richer, more dynamic architectures.In short: diversity and speed matter, but only once value, volume, and veracity are in place.
